Introduction
As you build your meeting agenda in boardcycle, boardcycle automatically creates a run sheet for that meeting that you can export at any time also.
Agenda vs run sheet - what is the difference?
Although similar, agendas and run sheets serve different purposes:
agendas are generally shared with all (or most) meeting attendees so that they understand what will be covered during the meeting
run sheets are designed more specifically for those conducting the meeting (primarily the chair and company secretary) so that they can conduct the meeting effectively.
Key differences between a run sheet and an agenda include:
agendas are designed to be space efficient and generally fit on 1-2 pages, whereas run sheets are laid out more spaciously to allow clear presentation of a larger amount of information
run sheets have more information on times and timings of sections and items than an agenda
run sheets can include attendance notes for individual attendees
run sheets can include run sheet notes for items
run sheets can also include proposed resolutions for items.
boardcycle allows you to easily export your run sheet at any time in flexible .docx format - a format that will be accessible and familiar to almost anyone you share it with.
Exporting your run sheet
You can export your run sheet from any tab within a meeting by:
The run sheet file will then download to the downloads folder on your computer.
Worth knowing: set your browser to automatically open the run sheet
Most modern browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc) can be set to automatically open .docx files, meaning that once your run sheet downloads, it will automatically open without you needing to open it manually.
If you wish to do this, we recommend that do a web search for instructions on how to do this for the specific browser you use.
Exported run sheets
When you export an run sheet, boardcycle compiles the run sheet you have built along with other relevant information (e.g. company and forum names, titles of members and participants, etc) as at the moment you click the export button.
If you need to make changes to the run sheet, simply make those changes in boardcycle and export the run sheet again.
