Introduction

boardcycle allows you to easily and efficiently build and update your agendas - but periodically it will be convenient for you to export your agenda so you can:

  • share it with people who aren't boardcycle users, for example, your chair or CEO

  • upload it to your board portal.

boardcycle allows you to easily export your agenda at any time in flexible .docx format - a format that will be accessible and familiar to almost anyone you share it with and compatible with your board portal.

Exporting your agenda

You can export your agenda from any tab within a meeting by:

  1. clicking the Export button

  2. selecting Agenda from the dropdown

The agenda file will then download to the downloads folder on your computer.

Worth knowing: set your browser to automatically open the agenda

Most modern browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc) can be set to automatically open .docx files, meaning that once your agenda downloads, it will automatically open without you needing to open it manually.

If you wish to do this, we recommend that do a web search for instructions on how to do this for the specific browser you use.

Exported agendas

When you export an agenda, boardcycle compiles the agenda you have built along with other relevant information (e.g. company and forum names, titles of members and participants, etc) as at the moment you click the export button.

If you need to make changes to the agenda, simply make those changes in boardcycle and export the agenda again.

Important: changes made in exported files are not made in boardcycle

Exported files are provided in .docx format to maximise ease of opening, viewing and commenting by anyone you choose to share it with - and to ensure compatibility with board portals you may wish to upload it to.

It is important to remember however that exported files are not linked to your boardcycle account and that changes made in such a file will not be reflected in boardcycle unless those changes are made in boardcycle too.

We strongly recommend that you ensure the agenda in boardcycle is your "source of truth" for all agendas and that changes are made there, rather than in exported files.
