Introduction

If your organisation uses OnBoard as its board portal, boardcycle's OnBoard Bookbuilder lets you build your meeting agenda in OnBoard from the agenda you have already built in boardcycle, rather than retyping it.

The OnBoard Bookbuilder exports your agenda as a Word document, already formatted the way OnBoard's agenda import expects, so you do not need to change it before uploading it.

Exporting the OnBoard Bookbuilder file

To export the OnBoard Bookbuilder file for a meeting, take the following steps:

  1. open the meeting you want to build in OnBoard

  2. click the Export button on the top right hand side of the page

  3. click on OnBoard Bookbuilder

  4. this will cause the OnBoard Bookbuilder file to download to your computer as a Word document

Importing the agenda into OnBoard

Once you have the OnBoard Bookbuilder file, import it into your meeting in OnBoard:

  1. open the meeting in OnBoard and click Edit Agenda in the Compose Agenda area

  2. click Import Agenda in the upper right corner of the screen

  3. click Add Document to browse for the file on your computer, or drag the file into the Drop file here area

  4. OnBoard will show you the agenda sections it has read from the file. Confirm them to add the agenda to your meeting

Worth knowing: only the agenda outline comes across

OnBoard's agenda import brings in the structure of your agenda, not the detail attached to it. Presenters, durations, item descriptions and notes stay in boardcycle, and papers are uploaded into OnBoard in accordance with your normal process once the structure is in place.
