Introduction

Sections are used to help organise your agenda into logical parts and to allow you to easily move those parts around your agenda if required. They are a 'container' for other agenda blocks which are indented inside them and as such, it would be rare that you would want to place a section on your agenda without indenting at least one other block inside it.

Worth knowing: Sections do not occupy time on your agenda

Sections are the sum of whatever is place inside them - accordingly, until other agenda blocks that have a duration are indented inside a section, it will have no duration or timing. Once a section contains other agenda blocks that do have durations, the section's duration and timing will be the sum of the blocks inside it.

For example, a section with 2 items inside it, each of 5 minutes duration, has a duration of 10 minutes.

Key information about sections

Sections:

  • can contain an unlimited number of other sections, items or breaks inside them

  • can be used with other sections to create 'depth' of indentation in your agenda

  • only have a name - they do not have any duration, action, paper or participants associated with them

  • act as a heading on your exported agenda.

Adding a section to an agenda

Adding a section to an agenda is as simple as dragging a section block from the right hand side of the agenda canvas and dropping it onto the agenda canvas where you want it. For more information on agenda building, click here.

Configuring or editing a section

Once you have a section block on your agenda canvas, you can configure or edit it by:

  1. clicking the edit icon on the right hand side of the section, which will launch a side panel

  2. editing the name of the section

  3. either clicking Done or clicking out of the side panel

Deleting a section

To delete a section:

  1. click the edit icon on the right hand side of the section, which will launch a side panel

  2. click the Delete button

Important: Deleting a section deletes all agenda blocks inside it

If you delete a section, you will also delete all sections, items and breaks that are indented inside that section. If you do not want to delete those other agenda blocks, drag them out of the section before you delete the section.

Quick editing a section name

You can also quickly edit the name of a section without opening the side panel by:

  1. clicking on the section name

  2. once you do this, it will become editable

  3. once you have made your changes, simply hit return or click somewhere else on the screen.
