Learn about viewing actions and adding status updates in the personal portal

Introduction

A key benefit of the boardcycle personal portal is that it allows you to see all of your board/committee actions in one place, at any time - and add status updates for inclusion in action items/matters arising reporting provided to your board/committees.

Viewing Actions

You can view all of your actions within any company you have access to by clicking the actions card for that company as explained in this article, which will take you to the Actions tab for that company.

Once you are in the Actions tab, you will see all actions that have been assigned to you excluding actions that have been archived by your boardcycle administrator. Actions are displayed in the Actions tab in due date order:

If you have many actions and wish to find a specific action, use the Search function to find the action you want:

Managing action status

Updating action status

To update an action's status:

  1. click the edit icon for the relevant action

  2. select Update status

  3. in the slide out, choose the new status from the status dropdown

  4. click + Add

Adding a status note

To update an action's status:

  1. click the edit icon for the relevant action

  2. select Update status

  3. in the slide out, add a note to the Notes box

  4. click + Add

Worth knowing: Status and status notes can be added together or separately

Although often you will want to add a status note when you change an action's status, boardcycle allows you to update status and add notes independently of each other - so you can do one, the other or both at once as needed.

Status update history

Each time you change an action's status or add a status note, that change will be added into the status update history.

Editing a status update or status note

To edit a status update or note:

  1. click the edit icon for the relevant action

  2. select Update status

  3. in the status update history, click the edit icon for the relevant status update or note

  4. make any necessary changes to the status or notes

  5. click Save

Deleting a status update or note

To delete status update or note:

  1. click the edit icon for the relevant action

  2. select Update status

  3. in the status update history, click the edit icon for the relevant status update or note

  4. select the I understand checkbox to confirm you want to delete the action

  5. click Delete
